Valve Index Left Controller – USB-C Charging Port – Repair Service

If your Valve Index left controller won’t charge, this service replaces or repairs the USB-C charging port to restore charging capability so the controller can take power and charge its battery again.

⚠️ PLEASE READ CAREFULLY – THIS IS A CHARGING-ONLY REPAIR:
This service restores power/charging functionality ONLY. It is NOT guaranteed to restore data functionality. Data connectivity is a separate issue tied to the aux board the USB-C port is attached to. Without data functionality:

• You will not be able to connect the controller to your PC for operation.
• You will not be able to perform firmware updates on the controller.

If your goal is to use the controller wired to a PC or to update firmware, this repair alone may not accomplish that.

🔋 How to Identify a Charging Port Issue:
Before sending your controller, check the following:

• ✅ If the controller will not charge or does not respond when plugged in, the USB-C port may be the problem.
• ⚠️ If the controller has a dead battery in addition to a bad main board, there will be an additional charge for those repairs.

🔍 IMPORTANT – Check Your Port First:
Look closely at the spot where you normally plug in the charging cable.

• ✅ There must be an actual USB-C port present – meaning you can see the middle plastic/metal contact tongue with the pins inside the port opening.
• ❌ If there is NO USB-C port there (the port is missing and it’s just an empty space/hole), we cannot repair it. A missing port that has come away from the port hole is not eligible for this service.

⚠️ Important Notes:

• This repair restores charging only and does not guarantee data/PC connectivity or firmware update capability.
• If we determine there is also a dead battery and/or a bad main board, we will contact you, and these will be an additional charge.
• The controller must be cosmetically good, with no major external damage.
• Controllers that are heavily damaged, glued, very dirty, missing the USB-C port entirely, or have unrelated issues will be rejected.
• If the controller is not received within two weeks, or if the shipment is lost, rejected, or never arrives, the service will be cancelled and refunded.
